What happens
Luigi Vasco, a newly arrived Italian immigrant in Chicago, plans a snack party for his night school classmates at his store. When the water supply to the neighborhood is cut off, Luigi's cooking plans are thrown into trouble, and he turns to his neighbor Pasquale for help. Luigi's letters to his mother in Italy frame the story, and his night school class provides further comic scenes. The episode of Life with Luigi, a 1949 comedy created by Cy Howard, stars J. Carrol Naish as Luigi, with Alan Reed as Pasquale. It first aired on October 4, 1949.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
