What happens
Luigi Basco, a newly arrived Italian immigrant, volunteers for the Civil Defense program after a spelling lesson at his night school. At City Hall he is given a confusing interview by Mr. Flanagan, who struggles to get his name and background straight. Luigi then seeks advice from his friend Pasquale, who tells him that a volunteer may not be accepted until he has become a citizen. The series Life with Luigi, a comedy first broadcast on February 26, 1952, stars J. Carrol Naish as Luigi, with Alan Reed as Pasquale.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
