What happens
Luigi Bosco, a young Italian immigrant, runs an antique shop in Chicago, but business is poor and he owes forty dollars in rent to his landlord, Pasquale, who brought him to America hoping he would marry Pasquale's daughter, Rosa. Luigi's young general manager, Jimmy O'Connor, urges him to sell a statue of George Washington to an auction-bound customer. Luigi reluctantly agrees, then goes to the bank with the sale money to pay his debts, where he is confused by the bank's explanation of how deposits are handled. The series Life with Luigi, from 1948, stars J. Carroll Naish as Luigi.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
