What happens
Chester A. Riley and his wife Peg argue about spending an evening out, and Riley's attempts to please her lead him into trouble. He acquires two tickets to an exclusive donors' dinner at the Ambassador Hotel, but the tickets turn out to be unpaid, and Peg is furious when she learns what happened. Riley then plans a night at the Copa Manana club to win her back, with the evening complicated by a waiter's sudden death and a large bill. The Life of Riley aired on the Blue Network and NBC, with William Bendix in the title role and Paula Winslowe as Peg, first broadcast on February 24, 1950.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
