What happens

Riley is convinced his wife Peg is leaving him after a quarrel at breakfast over spending and housework. At the plant, his friend Gillis hears the story while the two men eat lunch, and Riley explains his plan to let Peg cool off at her mother's. Riley then tries to win her back through his son Junior and a box of glazed fruit sent from the grocer, but the gift is refused and the misunderstanding grows. The story is part of The Life of Riley, a radio comedy first broadcast on July 5, 1947, on the Blue Network and NBC, with William Bendix as Riley.

A California bungalow, a plant where Riley works, and the streets and drugstore of the neighborhood.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
