What happens

When Simon takes Babs and Peg on what Riley believes is an elopement, Riley and his neighbor Waldo hurry off in pursuit. The episode is an installment of The Life of Riley, broadcast on September 21, 1946 on the Blue Network and NBC, starring William Bendix as Riley, with Paula Winslowe, Hans Conried and Alan Reed in the cast. Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
