What happens
Chester A. Riley wants Father's Day to go better than the last one, when his son Junior forgot him. Riley's wife Faith and daughter Babsy give him gifts, but Junior does not. Riley, spotting a red bathrobe with a blue dragon in a shop window, comes to believe Junior has finally remembered him and buys one with money secretly left for Junior. Riley's neighbor Waldo Benny and Digger O'Dell also join the story. The series is The Life of Riley, first broadcast on June 19, 1948, with William Bendix as Riley and Paula Winslowe as Faith.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
