What happens
Chester A. Riley helps initiate little Benny Fenjok into the lodge of the BPLA, a secret order, while Mule Durkin and Jim Gillis officiate alongside President Ike Shanahan. The ceremony is full of comic pomp, and the initiation ends with a friendly oath. Afterward, Mule and Jim fall into a bitter quarrel, and a lawyer comes to Riley's door hoping to draw him into it. Riley signs affidavits for both sides, believing he has been clever. The Life of Riley, starring William Bendix, aired on February 4, 1945, on the Blue Network and NBC. Its comedy centers on Riley's scheming to end the dispute between his two friends.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
