What happens

Ray Riley and his wife Peg are alarmed when their seventeen-year-old daughter Babs leaves home with her boyfriend Bert Roberts, apparently to elope to Las Vegas. Riley chases after the couple to the airport and stops them before the flight departs. Back home, the parents argue over what to do, while Bert's father, a wealthy real estate man, comes to Riley's house to discuss the matter. The episode is part of the long-running radio series The Life of Riley, first broadcast on November 3, 1950, starring William Bendix as Riley, with Paula Winslowe as Peg.

Los Angeles, California, in the late 1940s and early 1950s, at the Riley home, a Los Angeles airport, and a fashionable church.

Listen for: Riley's attempts to stop the elopement at the airport, and the tense exchanges between Riley and Peg about how to handle their daughter.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
