What happens
Jerry and the circus crew learn that a group of workers led by Gabby plans to strike, demanding more pay before the show opens in Stanton. Jerry overhears their meeting and reports it to Spike and to Mr. Randall, the circus owner. Randall addresses the men in the mess tent, refusing a raise but promising that the show will go on regardless. The loyal workers agree to help load the circus that night, and the crew sets to work packing the canvas and wagons while the deadline approaches. Jerry and Major are the focus of the bustle as the night's work goes on.
A traveling circus encampment, with the mess tent, the back lot and the wagons, on the night before the show opens in Stanton.
Characters: Jerry, Gabby, Spike, Mr. Randall, Murray, Major, Mr. Anil
Listen for: Listen for Gabby urging the other workers to strike, and for Mr. Randall's speech in the mess tent refusing a raise.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
