What happens
Jerry of the Circus opens with Jerry visiting Colonel Algernon, who has heard that much of the circus has broken out in red spots. Dr. Williams had everyone examined, and the trouble turns out to be a rash from the season's first strawberries rather than measles. The Colonel then tells Jerry an old story about Mark, a careless horse man who got even with his boss over a lost saddle. Whitey then gives Jerry and Tom a job helping the Roussaintroop act with their horses at a fair, and the episode ends with plans for a horse race.
A circus in the 1930s, including its hospital, the horse tent and the grounds where the show is set up.
Characters: Jerry, Colonel Algernon, Dr. Williams, Whitey, Nicholas, Tom, Mr. Randall, Mark
Listen for: The Colonel's story of Mark, who hid a lost horse and collected the reward, and Jerry's first job helping the Roussaintroop troop with their horses.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
