What happens

Jerry Dugan and his friend Rags learn that the bearded lady, Major, has been sending threatening notes to Carmen, a Spanish performer. Major confronts the bearded lady over the notes and an insulting bouquet, and forces her to write a reply to Carmen. Jerry, meanwhile, visits the wardrobe tent to borrow a pair of scissors, and he later finds his way to the bearded lady's wagon. The story is part of the Jerry of the Circus series, and this excerpt covers only its opening part.

A traveling circus lot, including the bearded lady's wagon, the wardrobe tent and the office wagon.

Characters: Jerry Dugan, Rags, Major, Carmen, Clara, Mr. Randall, El Mundo

Listen for: Major's threats toward the bearded lady, and why Jerry needs Clara's scissors.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
