What happens
Jerry and Johnny, two members of a traveling circus, talk late at night on the train after the show. Jerry says he wants to help Spike, a friend he believes was framed on a robbery charge in Hansburg, and plans to look for clues himself. Their conversation is interrupted when a light is seen ahead and then a fire breaks out on the train. The circus crew uncouples cars and works to save the horses, and Jerry runs to wake the people in the cars ahead. The fire is spreading toward the horse cars as the crew tries to get the train apart.
A circus train travelling at night through hilly country, shortly before three o'clock in the morning.
Characters: Jerry, Johnny, Spike, Mr. Bradley, Sandy, Whitey, Randall, Platt
Listen for: Jerry's plan to investigate Spike's framing, and the sudden fire on the train that threatens the horse cars.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
