What happens

Jerry, a young worker at the circus, waters horses and helps out around the show grounds after a fire has destroyed a tent overnight. He is fond of Rags, a dog being trained for a big act, and he spends time watching the trainer and the trapeze artist Patsy as they rehearse. Bums, an older clown who looks out for Jerry, teases him about the dog and notices that Jerry's clothes are soaked. Later, two men speak in private about a plan involving the office wagon and a payment of money, and they arrange their movements so that Bums and Jerry think they have gone to town. The series is Jerry of the Circus, first broadcast on July 5, 1937.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
