What happens

Jerry Dugan, a young boy whose father has recently died, arrives at Randall's Greater Circus with a letter from his father asking the owner, Sam Randall, to look after him. Sam learns that Jerry grew up with horses and wants to join the circus, and agrees to find him work. Jerry arrives with a scruffy dog named Rags, and the boy is given a place to stay in the make-up wagon of Bumps, a clown. Meanwhile, Sam is troubled by a missing gun from the circus's wild animal training, and the knife thrower Lorenz quarrels with Rags after the dog runs into his property. The episode is part of the series Jerry of the Circus.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
