What happens

Jerry Dugan arrives at Fair Oaks Military Academy from the Randall Brothers Circus, where he has been a performer with his dog Rags. A cadet named Phillips meets him at the station and drives him to the campus, pointing out the town along the way. Jerry is taken to Major Davis's office to complete his admission papers. He learns that pets are not allowed at the academy, and Mr. Randall, his guardian, gently explains that Rags must return to the circus. Jerry is told that Phillips will be his roommate.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
