What happens

Jack Benny opens his show with a monologue about his trip to Atlantic City, comparing the resort's waves and hotels to other places, and trading jokes with Don Bester and Mary Livingstone about their weekends away. Frank Parker sings, and Benny introduces a parody drama called The House of Rawchild, a spoof of the film The House of Rothschild. In it, old Meyer Rawchild sends his sons out to build the family fortune, while the audience is made to wait for seats and the Prince of Bulgaria comes asking for a loan. Benny and his cast deliver the comedy with Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris also involved in the show.

A 1934 radio comedy show broadcast from New York, featuring a monologue, skits about Atlantic City, and a spoof drama set in the Rawchild house in Frankfurt and later abroad.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
