What happens
Jack Benny prepares to travel from Beverly Hills to New York, where his radio show will broadcast a March of Dimes drive. Before leaving, he takes money from his safe, packs with his valet Rochester, and deals with a stream of visitors and calls, including his friends Larry Stevenson, Phil Harris and Don Wilson. A new tenant asks to rent Benny's house while he is away, and Mary Livingstone's maid reports that Livingstone is ill and will travel ahead. Benny and his friends argue over which train to take, Benny buys a ticket for the Chief, and the group sets off for the station. This is the Jack Benny Program, broadcast on NBC in January 1945 with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead roles.
Jack Benny's house in Beverly Hills, California, and the train station in Los Angeles, shortly before a trip to New York.

Listen for: Benny's ticket-buying exchange with the clerk and the friends' argument over which train to take.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
