What happens

Jack Benny is at home in Beverly Hills while his household staff, Rochester and Mary Livingston, go about their routines, and a parade of visitors arrives. Neighbors and tenants complain about Jack's tight-fisted dealings, and a radio drama called The Mean Old Man is discussed at length. Dennis Day and the Sportsmen Quartet drop by with grievances about pay, and Jack's television director, Ralph Levy, arrives to object to the script for Jack's upcoming CBS television show. The Jack Benny Show aired on NBC and CBS Radio on March 21, 1954, and stars Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
