What happens

Jack Benny prepares for the last broadcast of the season while his cast and staff keep interrupting him. Don Wilson teases him about his age, and Mary Livingstone and Dennis Day trade jokes about summer plans. Sound man Twombly is repeatedly warned to give sound effects only on cue, but he keeps trying to show off his artistry. Benny tries to keep the show on schedule and shows his frugal streak as he hurries to leave for his vacation. The 1955 Jack Benny show, the final broadcast of that season, airs on NBC and CBS Radio, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the lead.

A radio studio at the end of the broadcast season, with the show's cast and staff preparing for summer breaks.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
