What happens

Jack Benny hosts an open house at his Beverly Hills home on Christmas Eve for members of his radio cast. Rochester is busy wrapping gifts while Jack's ostrich, Trudy, wanders through the house eating household items and causing trouble. Guests arrive one by one, including Mary Livingstone, Don Wilson, Dennis Day, and Phil Harris, and the evening includes gift giving, a dinner of turkey hash, and jokes about gifts and wallpaper. Jack's sister Florence and her husband Leonard Fenschel also arrive, and Jack becomes irritated when he hears a rumor about a film with Fred Allen. This is the Jell-O program from the Jack Benny series, first broadcast on December 24, 1939, on NBC and CBS Radio.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
