What happens

Orson Welles, filling in for Jack Benny, hosts a broadcast in which the cast visits his motion picture studio the morning after Mary Livingstone returns from the East. Mary, Phil Harris and Dennis Day drive over and are greeted at the gate by a costumed doorman before finding Welles on stage five. On the set, Welles works on his new picture, rewriting scenes and rehearsing a dramatic sequence in which Mary and Phil take the leading parts. Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Dennis Day, Rochester and Don Wilson appear, and the program is broadcast as a light-hearted visit to the studio.

A motion picture studio, including stage five and Welles's dressing room, on a Sunday morning in 1943.

Listen for: Welles rewriting the script on the set and the cast rehearsing a melodramatic scene.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
