What happens
Jack Benny and Mary Livingstone make the most of a Jell-O broadcast when Jack loses a Rose Bowl bet to Phil Harris and refuses the money. In the second half, Jack invites actress Barbara Stanwyck to his home to rehearse a scene from Golden Boy, where she is to play her original role opposite him. The rehearsal, a Sunday broadcast of the Golden Boy scene, and Jack's performance are a series of misunderstandings and comic exchanges. This episode of The Jack Benny Program first aired on NBC on January 7, 1940, with Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson and Phil Harris in the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
