What happens

Jack Benny spends a day around Beverly Hills with his friends and staff. At home after breakfast he tries to get singers Dinah Shore and Mario Lanza to record his song, and both refuse him. Dennis Day arrives jealous over Mary Livingstone, and Benny asks him to sing the song on the next program. Benny and Mary then walk to Rothschild's department store to shop and get haircuts, where a string of store staff keep turning down Benny as a customer. The Jack Benny program starred Benny with Mary Livingstone, Phil Harris, Rochester, and Dennis Day, and was broadcast on NBC and CBS Radio on January 13, 1952.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
