What happens

Jack Benny's household is busy on a Saturday evening in Beverly Hills. Mary Livingstone arrives to go to a movie with Benny, but Barbara Stanwyck joins them after an awkward visit. Dennis Day, meanwhile, comes to the house to complain about his income tax and quarrels with Benny over his salary. Stung by the argument, Dennis goes home and resolves to get even with his employer. The story is told in the broadcast's usual comic style, with Rochester, Butterfly and Dennis's parents among those who appear.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
