What happens

Ralph Denton, a skilled sword maker, arrives at his friend Ralph Vibken's home in a panic after Vibken has killed a woman with an antique rapier. Vibken recounts how he came to own the blade, which was said to carry the curse of the mad monk Rasputin, and how a mysterious woman named Stasia Kasoff became entangled with him. Dark portraits, a legend about the full moon, and a growing obsession with the weapon set the story in motion. Written by Frederick Mather, the episode is part of the Inner Sanctum Mysteries series, with Larry Haynes starring as Ralph.

A Manhattan waterfront and a deserted strip near the docks, a sword maker's shop, and a Dutch mansion on Lippa Street in New York.

Characters: Ralph Vibken, Denton, Stasia Kasoff, Ingrid, Mary, Mr. Hose

Listen for: Ralph's confession to Denton about the rapier and the woman who sold him the legend.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
