What happens
Peter Lang wakes groggy in his house to find his wife Myrna strangled in her locked room, with a broken locket and scratches on his own wrists. His friends Phil and Henrietta Judson try to help him, but Peter begins to fear he killed Myrna in his sleep. The investigation is led by Inspector O'Brien. Peter's cousin-in-law Ted Hale is later hidden in the cellar, and the story continues as Peter struggles to understand his own actions.
A house in a quiet neighborhood, with an adjoining house across the lawn, in the 1940s.
Characters: Peter Lang, Myrna Lang, Phil Judson, Henrietta Judson, Inspector O'Brien, Ted Hale
Listen for: Peter's growing uncertainty about whether he committed the murders while sleepwalking, and the ominous tone of the Judsons' help.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
