What happens
Howard, a man released from a state prison for the criminally insane, arrives at the isolated New England house of Diana Dorff and her husband George Bauman. Howard claims a dark force takes control of his body and begs Diana to help him fight it. Diana, who knows his history, is shaken by his demands and the knife he carries. Regina, George's wife, arrives at the house, and tensions rise as Diana tries to decide who to trust. The story turns on the choices each character makes under pressure. Inner Sanctum Mysteries aired on February 7, 1949, and this episode was written by Milton Lewis, with Leslie Woods as Regina and Everett Sloan as Howard.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
