What happens

Captain Bates, played by Arthur Vincent, commands a schooner whose crew has begun to vanish one by one. When Bates and his first mate find the ship abandoned with its wheel unmanned, they board her and search the decks and cabins. The surviving crew describe men disappearing, strange red and salty water, and a dense fog that seems to hide something from the sea. The captain grows uneasy as the reckoning of the ship's position stops making sense. The broadcast in Inner Sanctum Mysteries, Dead Reckoning, first aired on 1942-01-18 and was written by Robert.

A schooner at sea on the fishing banks, where the crew is disappearing and the ship drifts through a fog.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
