What happens
Mrs. Putnam, a wealthy and disliked woman, has apparently died of natural causes, yet police Detective Jeff Hanson and his partner Porky receive a frantic phone call from a woman crying that she is being murdered. Traced to the Putnam house, the call leads the detectives to a household where every member seems to have a reason to resent the dead woman. Jeff questions the nervous relatives, the doctor, the butler and the gardener, and grows suspicious of the house itself. This is an Inner Sanctum Mysteries episode, first broadcast on January 7, 1941, with the series' usual host introducing the program.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
