What happens
Brit Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, is looking for the scientist Dr. Lockhart, whose secretary has refused to say where he is. Reid's assistant Axford reports that a former lab worker, Jason Filbert, has apparently died by suicide, and a photo links him to Lockhart's secret gas work. Reid receives a letter warning that enemy agents want Lockhart's formula, and when he and Axford visit Nora Benham, the secretary, they find her dead beside a sealed gas container. Reid hides his identity behind the Green Hornet and his valet Kato. The Green Hornet series aired on August 22, 1943.
A city newspaper office and apartment houses in an American city during the Second World War, with later scenes in Lockhart's house.

Listen for: Listen for the discovery of Nora Benham's body and Reid's warning about the enemy agents' deadline.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
