What happens

Britt Reid, a young newspaper publisher, and his employee Michael Axford meet with photographer Clicker Benny, who has returned from the southern mountains with pictures of small war plants. The pictures include the power plant that supplies the area's factories. When a man is shot outside the Daily Sentinel building, he is found to resemble a waiter at a nightclub, and the story draws Reid and Clicker Benny into a search for the truth. The Green Hornet, Reid's masked alter ego, enters the investigation as the threat to the southern power plant grows with the approaching flood and storm.

A city newspaper office and nightclub, and a southern power plant threatened by a flood and storm, in the United States during the Second World War.

Listen for: The gradual revelation of the power plant threat, the photograph that links a murdered man to a waiter, and the Green Hornet's scheme to trap the nightclub office.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
