What happens
Lieutenant John Moore, an American pilot held in a Nazi prison camp, is secretly replaced by a German officer who has been trained to imitate him and undergoes plastic surgery to match his appearance. After returning home to the Moore household, the impostor is welcomed by the family, but Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, grows suspicious of his behavior. The Green Hornet, the series' masked crime fighter, is on the case as sabotage is suspected at a local plane factory. This is a Green Hornet radio episode, originally broadcast on December 11, 1943.
A Nazi prison camp and a German secret school, then an American city where the Moore household, the Daily Sentinel offices and the Green Hornet's apartment are located.
Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Johnny Moore, Mr. Moore, Mrs. Moore, Ellen, Gail, Ashford
Listen for: The dog Wagger's reaction to the impostor, and the cocktail glass that Britt Reid takes away as evidence.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
