What happens
Britt Reid, a daring young publisher, and his valet Cato take on corruption in the state's institutions for the insane. Reporter Sherman has gone undercover inside Rockridge Asylum to expose how patients are committed without trial, on the word of two doctors. A state politician profits from the commitments, and his associates Murchison and Lebron run the asylum. When Sherman's records and pictures begin to threaten the racket, the men react with alarm and violence. The episode is an installment of The Green Hornet, first broadcast on October 26, 1939, and this account covers only the first part of the story.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
