What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Sentinel, learns from his financial editor Potter that the state sales tax fund is about 240,800 dollars short. Reid decides to print the figures on the front page, and Potter becomes the target of threats. Fraser, the state official whose department handles the tax collection, responds by calling for an investigation of his own and by arranging for a man to visit Potter at night. The story follows Reid, his valet Kato, and the Green Hornet as they track the missing money and the attempt on Potter's life. The series is The Green Hornet, first broadcast on June 12, 1940.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
