What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, investigates after meat packer Mr. Brinkley reports a series of accidents and contaminated shipments at his Brinkley plant. Brinkley believes someone is forcing him to sell his business, and the buyer's identity is hidden behind a broker. Britt and his chauffeur Kato look into the plant's refrigeration room and the men who run it. The Green Hornet, the masked crime fighter, has also sent a threat to hijack a shipment of meat, and the story follows the planned route change for the trucks that night.

A meat-packing plant in the city, the Civic Club, and country roads at night where a meat truck caravan travels.

Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Mr. Brinkley, Mr. Franklin, Carson, Larry Hendricks, Smith, Miss Williams

Listen for: Listen for Britt Reid's investigation at the packing plant and the planned change of truck route, which Brinkley and Carson agree on at dinner.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
