What happens
Publisher Michael Axford of the Daily Sentinel and Police Commissioner Higgins argue over the city's gang war after Baroness Menor is jailed. Higgins says the police cannot legally end the violence, and Axford decides that the Green Hornet will take matters into his own hands. Axford contacts Phil Hawley, a cab driver who passes underworld information to the Green Hornet, and learns where rival gang leaders are hiding. The Green Hornet and Kato set out to visit the hideouts of Tig Stublin and Richie McFlirt, and the episode ends with a raid on Richie's place.
A city in the 1950s with a Daily Sentinel newspaper, police headquarters, a gang war between rival rackets, and the suburbs where the gang hideouts are.
Characters: Michael Axford, Commissioner Higgins, Phil Hawley, Green Hornet, Kato, Tig Stublin, Richie McFlirt, Baroness Menor
Listen for: Axford's decision to let the Green Hornet act where the police cannot, and the information Phil Hawley gives about the rival gang leaders.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
