What happens
Publisher Rick Reid, secretly the Green Hornet, learns that political boss Jim Courtney is betting heavily against his own mayoral candidate, Joseph Mitchell, and suspects a scheme. With his valet Kato, Reid bugs Courtney's country home and overhears plans to discredit Mitchell on the radio panel show Political Crossfire. The Green Hornet and Kato set up a listening post in the trees and gather what they can about the plot, including a woman named Nina Jumey who is set to arrive in town. Their task is to stop the frame-up before election day.
A mid-century American city during a mayoral election, including the Daily Sentinel newspaper, the Delray Hotel, the Pyramid Broadcasting Company studio and Jim Courtney's country estate.
Characters: Rick Reid, Kato, Jim Courtney, Pete Turner, Joseph Mitchell, Bruce Gifford, Nina Jumey, Craig Adams
Listen for: The conversation between Jim Courtney and Pete Turner in Courtney's study, in which they plan the frame-up of Joseph Mitchell on the Monday broadcast.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
