What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, receives a letter from Michael Axford, a former reporter returning to the paper. Reid's reporter Larry Lowery and secretary Miss Benny look into a circus whose troubled season has been blamed on a jinx. Lowery believes former racketeer Fenders is extorting insurance money from circus owner Burns and causing accidents to pressure him. When Burns refuses to see Lowery, the reporters' suspicions grow. Reid, who also works as the masked Green Hornet, plans a trap for the racketeers at the circus that evening. Cato, his valet, stays loyal throughout.

A city newspaper office, a circus lot and a city apartment, in a period of organized crime rackets.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
