What happens

Britt Reid, a young newspaper publisher who secretly works as the Green Hornet, and his valet Cato look into a series of murders tied to Joe Desmond, a political boss in the tenement district. Desmond runs a social club and a citizenship racket that sells false American papers to immigrants. Tony Russo, one of his victims, is picked up by police after leaving the club, and the case grows as the newspaper keeps the story on its front page. Contractor Andrew Melvin, who has become frightened, is the next target. Reid and Cato head to the Melvin home to make him talk, and the episode follows their attempts to uncover the racket and the men behind it. Pete Nelson, Desmond's associate, is also drawn into the case as pressure builds around the gang.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
