What happens

Gregory Stewart, a retired diplomat, quarrels with his son Donald over Donald's plan to marry chorus girl Hazel Darnell. Later that night Stewart is found murdered in his library, and both Donald and Hazel fall under police suspicion after each is reported to have threatened him. Meanwhile newspaper publisher Britt Reid and his valet Cato, working as the Green Hornet, begin looking into the case. The Daily Sentinel's reporter Michael Axford has been covering the story for the paper. The transcript ends partway through, so the outcome is not described here.

Characters: Gregory Stewart, Donald Stewart, Hazel Darnell, Jules, Britt Reid, Michael Axford, Gordon, Cato

Listen for: Stewart's recorded speeches and the record played back in the library, which become important to the investigation

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
