What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel and secretly the Green Hornet, investigates after a doctor named Spencer is shot dead outside his home. Spencer had been treating a patient, Violet Hill, and she has since vanished, apparently taken by force. Reid and his valet Cato examine the doctor's office for clues, and the reporter Ashford brings news from police headquarters. Reid's partner Cato stays close as the case grows, while the Green Hornet pursues the pills that tie the doctor to a drug racket. The story is told in the old-time radio style of The Green Hornet, first broadcast on October 18, 1945.

A city in the 1940s, including a medical office, an apartment, a newspaper office, and a drug warehouse on Water Street.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
