What happens

Linda Travis, a confidential secretary sent by Britt Reid's father, arrives in the city to watch how Britt runs the Daily Sentinel and takes a job at the paper. Gunnegan and Michael Axford are chasing a story about gangster Jerry Jerome, who was shot after a car crash and lies in hospital. Linda gets a nurse's post at the hospital and is sent to Jerome's room. Dr. Schott is visited by a shifty man, and Linda overhears a worrying conversation about the Talbot extortion case and the Green Hornet.

A city in the late 1940s, including a commercial airport, the Daily Sentinel newspaper offices, a general hospital, and a suburban home.

Characters: Linda Travis, Britt Reid, Michael Axford, Gunnegan, Jerry Jerome, Dr. Schott, Rod Pomeroy, Cato

Listen for: The conversation between Dr. Schott and the shifty visitor in the hospital lounge about the Talbot money and the gun.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
