What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, and his Filipino valet Cato take up the case of reporter Mike Axford, who vanishes after going to interview Peter Narvik, the Norwegian sailor rescued from a torpedoed tanker. Axford's wallet turns up in a taxi cab, and the trail leads to a mental clinic run by Dr. Breslau and his associate Carl. The clinic's staff insist no such man visited, and its grounds are guarded by dogs and floodlights. Reid, in his Green Hornet identity, slips into the mansion to learn what is happening there and why Axford disappeared. The Green Hornet series aired on the Blue Network, and this episode was first broadcast on July 11, 1944.

A present-day American city during World War II, including the offices of the Daily Sentinel, a city hospital, a taxi, and a private mental clinic.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
