What happens
Newspaper reporter Ed Lowry is attacked after he picks up a coded note dropped by a man in a restaurant, and is then kidnapped. Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, and his Filipino valet Kato work to decode the message and track down Lowry before it is too late. The Green Hornet series, broadcast on June 6, 1944, follows Reid as he pursues racketeers and saboteurs. The story is set in the city during wartime.
A city during World War II, including the Daily Sentinel offices, a restaurant, police headquarters and an old house near a railroad trestle.
Characters: Britt Reid, Kato, Ed Lowry, Lenore Case, Michael Axford, Sergeant Burke
Listen for: The coded note that Britt Reid decodes, and the bomb set near the railroad trestle.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
