What happens
Prosecutor Maynard Kenton believes he finally has a signed confession against gangster Chuck Lewis, but after a car crash and a warning from Lewis's henchmen, he suddenly backs down and refuses to move against the gang. Publisher Britt Reid, who is secretly the Green Hornet, and his valet Kato investigate the reversal. Kenton's son Paul, deeply in debt after a gambling loss at a den run by Lewis's men, becomes involved, and the Green Hornet sets out to protect him. The story is part of the long-running Green Hornet radio series, first broadcast on June 13, 1944.
A American city in the 1940s, including the Daily Sentinel newspaper office, Kenton's home, Lewis's apartment and a gambling house on the west side.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
