What happens
Newspaper editor Mike Axford and publisher Mr. Reed are alarmed by the murder of radio commentator Don Dunlow, who had been attacking the black market meat racket in his broadcasts. Axford pursues leads through the city, while the newspaper's editorials keep the black market in the public eye. A stout, smooth-talking man named Fleetwood, who arranges the illegal meat deliveries, is heard reporting to his boss about the racket's operations. Threats arrive by telephone and by letter, and the editorials continue. The Green Hornet, who fights criminals outside the law, is mentioned as a figure whose name is tied to the case, and a confrontation at the newspaper office draws the editor deeper into the affair.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
