What happens
Ed Lorry, a reporter for the Daily Sentinel, is sent to interview Ross Donald, a man who has been beaten after promising to talk about a city building contract bid rigged by Mr. Randall. Donald is found badly injured and cannot speak, so Lorry turns to his wife, Mrs. Donald, who believes Randall is responsible. The Green Hornet and Kato are drawn into the rivalry over the city building job, where bids are being manipulated and building contractors pressured. Brett Reid, publisher of the Sentinel, works behind the scenes as the Green Hornet to uncover the truth. The Green Hornet series, original air date August 16, 1941, follows the masked crusader's efforts against racketeers within the law.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
