What happens

Britt Reid, publisher of the Daily Sentinel, and his valet Cato investigate a drug ring after a newspaper article about the Daniels drugstore in Bayview draws Reid's attention. Reid's office assistant Lowrie has been talking loosely about suspicions of the store, and the police, led by Sergeant Ben, arrest Daniels on a narcotics charge. Reid learns that a special investigator, Newcom, had been watching the store and that his plans have been upset. Reid then turns to the case with Cato, and the pair work to crack the ring behind Daniels. The Green Hornet series, first aired on September 5, 1943, follows Britt Reid and his valet Cato in this episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
