What happens
Britt Reid, the publisher known as the Green Hornet, and his valet Kato go to a deserted waterfront dock to meet a motor launch after an anonymous note promises a secret formula will be handed over there. They find the body of Stuart Ludlow, an assistant to Professor Santos, a scientist who did secret wartime work. Police suspect the Green Hornet of the murder and of taking the formula, and the Hornet resolves to find the real killer. The story follows his investigation through the newspaper office and the professor's boathouse.
A foggy waterfront dock in an American city, the offices of the Daily Sentinel, Britt Reid's apartment, and a boathouse, in the years after the Second World War.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
